- Maintaining the company's general ledger, preparing financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement), and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations for Blaze Portugal and Blaze Germany.
- Be involved in planning and forecasting the company's finances. This involves working with other departments to create a budget, regularly updating forecasts based on actual performance, and analyzing any variances.
- Managing the company's liquidity, ensuring there are sufficient funds to cover operational and investment needs. It also includes managing banking relationships.
- Managing all payments owed by the company to its suppliers and payments owed to the company by its customers. It can also include credit management.
- Cooperate and coordinate the accounting offices in Portugal and Germany to prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws in each jurisdiction, and strategically planning to minimize tax liabilities where possible.
- Analyzing financial data to provide insights into the company's performance and financial health. This could involve profitability analysis, cost analysis, etc.
- Involvement in preparing financial reports for current or potential investors, as well as answering any finance-related questions.
- Be involved in strategic decision-making for the company. This might involve financial modeling for potential new projects or initiatives and evaluating potential mergers and acquisitions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a finance or accounting role of at least 2 years.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and accounting principles in Portugal are mandatory and desirable for Germany.
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
- English is mandatory.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and financial reporting.
- Competence in managing accounts payable and receivable, cash flow forecasting, and budgeting.
- Knowledge of tax compliance and planning in various jurisdictions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in handling financial data.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with other departments and external partners.
- A proactive approach to risk management and the ability to identify potential financial issues.
- Team player with the ability to work independently.
- Certified accountant in Portugal is a plus.
- Experience with financial modeling and analysis.
- Knowledge or experience in tech industries.
- Willingness to engage in continuous learning and development in financial policies and tools.
