Acute Neurosciences rotating position

  • Based at The Royal Melbourne Hospital City campus Parkville
  • Provide Physiotherapy service, clinical supervision and education of students and junior Physiotherapists
The Royal Melbourne Hospital Physiotherapy service is made up of over 180 staff providing services across the City Campus in Parkville and the Royal Park Campus. We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and Grade 2 Acute Neurosciences Physiotherapist to join our Physiotherapy service.This position will provide the successful applicants opportunities to gain experience working in a well supported multidisciplinary team environment with a wide variety of Neuroscience clients. The role involves the provision of a 7 day Physiotherapy service, supervision and education of student and junior Physiotherapists and will be a member of our supportive team of Senior Clinicians. You will be expected to contribute to the weekend service and research portfolio within the team.Please note - recruitment is ongoing, with interviews commencing as soon as suitable candidates are received.   • Competently and independently assess, treat, and manage neuroscience patients in the acute health setting.
  • Work across a variety of wards/caseloads.
  • Prioritise clinical load based on daily demand.
  • Be flexible to meet the clinical and workforce needs of the Physiotherapy department.
  • Provide clinical supervision and education of students and junior physiotherapists
About You:
  • You are an experienced Neurosciences Physiotherapist
  • You have a strong ability to develop relationships with relevant team members from Allied Health, Nursing, and Medical teams.
  • You have well developed communication, time management and organisational skills.
  • You have experience with supervision of staff and students.
