Behaviour Support Assistant - An Secondary school in the Sheffield area is looking for a full- time Teaching Assistant from April to support students within their IR unit.As a Behavioural Mentor, your duties will require you to supervise the pupils throughout the school day, encourage the pupils to engage with their education, build rapport with students, be a role model and help the pupils to understand why their education is important. You may be required to work 1:1 with a certain pupil or provide more general classroom support. The school would be interested in a candidate who has previous experience supporting children who display challenging behaviours.This role would be suitable for applicants with a background in Education, Sports, Carers, Residential support workers, Youth Workers and those with the experience within the Prison system or the Military.We are looking for candidates:
  • Hold a full drivers license (Preferred but not essential)
  • Are patient
  • Have a caring disposition
  • Can set clear and respectable boundaries
  • Encourage pupils to engage in every activity
  • Are able to reinforce positive behaviour
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH TEACHING PERSONNEL, YOU MUST:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional references that cover the last two years
