Yoga Group Fitness InstructorThe Beede Swim & Fitness Center is a seeking part-time, Certified Yoga Group Fitness Instructors. Candidates must have a nationally-accredited personal training certification and current CPR AED certification with two or more years' experience. Group Fitness Instructors will lead fitness classes for groups of up to 25 participants with classes that run 7 days a week, year-round, at various times of day and at various locations including the Council on Aging in Concord.This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a member-oriented, municipal-owned swim and fitness center that residents take pride in. Classes run 7 days a week, year-round, at various times of day and at various locations including the Council on Aging in Concord, based on the instructor's availability and interests. As a yoga instructor, you will lead yoga classes for participants of all levels, focusing on promoting physical and mental well-being through the practice of yoga postures, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques. You will create a supportive and inclusive environment for students to explore their practice and improve their overall health and fitness.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:External and internal applicants, as well as position incumbents who are or become disabled as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, must be able to perform the essential job functions (as listed) either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined by management on a case-by-case basis.
  • Plan and lead yoga classes that are safe, engaging, and appropriate for participants' skill levels and goals.
  • Demonstrate and instruct yoga poses, sequences, and modifications, ensuring proper alignment and technique.
  • Provide verbal cues and hands-on adjustments to help students improve their practice and avoid injury.
  • Incorporate breathwork and relaxation techniques into classes to promote stress relief and mindfulness.
  • Adapt classes to accommodate special populations, such as beginners, seniors, pregnant women, or individuals with injuries or medical conditions.
  • Maintains positive relationships with participants to educate, motivate, and promote a healthy way of life by delivering quality, group fitness programs.
  • Teaches scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate warm-up, exercises, stretching, and cool down.
  • Keeps management informed of customer and facility needs.
  • Ensures that safety standards are met, and Department and facility policies are followed.
  • Performs other related duties as required, directed or as the situation dictates.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:None.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Prior experience in Yoga, Group Fitness, Personal Training, health promotion, or wellness, required.
  • Must have a current group fitness certification (such as ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM and/or certification specific to the format you teach is required).
  • Must have current First Aid/CPR/AED certification or be willing to obtain before starting.
  • Certification from a recognized yoga teacher training program (RYT 200 or higher) accredited by Yoga Alliance or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of yoga principles, anatomy, and teaching methodology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Experience teaching yoga classes in a group setting, preferably in a studio, gym, or wellness center environment.
  • Passion for yoga and a commitment to promoting health and well-being in the community.

Regularly required to stand, walk, crouch, stoop, reach, crawl, climb, talk, sit and hear for extended periods. Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, and feel objects or equipment. Noise is moderate to loud at times.
