Responsibilities
- A key senior role advising TikTok Shop, TikTok's e-commerce platform on some of our most impactful regulatory, policy and compliance issues.
- Advise one of the largest businesses within TikTok Shop to help them launch and scale their global selling business while managing and mitigating regulatory risks, while helping manage evolving relationships with regulators.
- Dive deep into regulatory requirements related to product, safety and supply chain issues, including but not limited to prohibited/restricted listings, gating and selling requirements, DSA, GPSR, product safety and labelling, physical labeling, registration requirements, testing, factory quality audits; and be able to effectively advise the business of how to implement these in a risk-based way.
- Market opening / launch of new products: Work effectively with the business to ensure product compliance while launching new products/markets at scale.
- Regulatory compliance: Clearly translate regulatory requirements into practical compliance requirements for operational teams; taking a justifiable risk-based approach based on regulatory and reputational risk.
- Policy analysis and review - Identify, assess and develop governance, compliance and regulatory frameworks that will protect the platform from product risk, including gating standards, policy reviews, moderation standards review, emergency case responses, etc.
- Work closely with GR, PR, Legal and Compliance to carefully develop and manage evolving regulatory relationships while mitigating enforcement risk.
- Horizon scanning: anticipate the impact of the rapidly changing external regulatory environment to effective advise internal business stakeholders of the regulatory impact and the required changes required to products / processes.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications
- Significant regulatory affairs experience, preferably focused on e-commerce, product safety, prohibited/restricted products, and/or supply chain regulation and risk. (Candidates from other highly regulated industries or alternative risk backgrounds will be considered if they can show a genuine interest in and long-term enthusiasm for the role alongside an ability to scale knowledge very quickly).
- Hands-on and in-depth experience in implementing evolving and complex regulatory standards in partnership with the business, in a risk-based manner which preserves business growth while mitigating reputational and enforcement risk.
- Astute commercial acumen; able to advise the business in a commercially sound way to help them scale the business at an extremely rapid pace taking a risk-based approach to implementation.
- Excellent judgment and EQ: can make and justify commercially sensible regulatory recommendations at speed while helping the company build up its approach to risk-based compliance.
- Genuine collaborator who builds strong relationships, influencing through persuasion, trust and sensible, practical advice. Able to effectively offer challenge and suggest ideas for alternative approaches where necessary while building trust and maintaining relationships.
- Demonstrated experience in working with operational teams to implement regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and handle relationships with regulators; understanding the intersection between regulatory and reputational risk.
- Ambitious and results-based focus.

- Demonstrated experience in helping large organizations evolve their regulatory posture as the external regulatory environment changes, while continuing to support commercial growth.
- Experience as a regulator, in investigations, law enforcement or border control.
