We strive to employ staff who share our values and can bring special skills - enhancing the service that we provide to our clients.At Barnett Waddingham, we are currently recruiting a newly created opportunity for a Senior Team Leader Document Automation, to join a growing team, within our Pensions Administration Business area. The role is in a specialist team within our pensions systems support function.Penstream is Barnett Waddingham's in-house application covering all aspects of pension administration. This includes day-to-day administration, pensioner payroll, and pension scheme accounting. Penstream is fully integrated with our work management system, known as Taskstream, and our electronic document management system. Penstream is used to generate scheme and member communications utilising system and calculation data. Communications can be issued as printed documents and/or published via Barnett Waddingham's online services (Member self-service or Client documentation access).This role will be hybrid (2 days per week in the office) and can be based at any of our 9 offices in Bristol, Cheltenham, Birmingham, Guildford, Liverpool, London, Amersham, Glasgow, or Leeds.Responsibilities
  • Provide support and advice, as a Subject Matter Expert, for project work.
  • Research and develop solutions, tests new development/procedures.
  • Perform peer review of standard and complex work.
  • Design and delivery of advanced training relating to the communication features of the pension systems.
  • Accountable for the team's workload and service reporting to key stakeholders where necessary
  • Create, maintain and update standard communications and leadson complex work.
  • Use system data output to populate basic and complex letters and statements
  • Produce CSV reports from Penstream
  • Identify, suggest and take ownership of improvements to core and scheme specific calculation code XML outputs.
  • Work closely with IT (Software Development) to implement new functionality.
  • Assist in the production of budgets for non-standard work.
  • Attend client meetings and take a lead role in presentations to potential new clients.
  • Support management of internal and, where appropriate, external clients.
  • Provides guidance & support to internal projects and implementation work streams in planning and delivery stages.
  • Undertake Personal Development Reviews in addition to 1-2-1 meetings with all team members.
  • Take an active role into the recruitment process and conducts interviews.
Qualifications/Experience
  • A minimum of GCSE Grade “5” or “C” in Mathematics and English.
  • An in-depth knowledge and high level of experience of pension and payroll administration (DB/DC/CARE/Cash balance, and Hybrid arrangements).
  • An advanced knowledge of UK pension legislation.
  • An advanced understanding of XML data.
  • An advanced understanding of the concept of the communication features of a pension system.
  • A knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook and Word in particular) to an advanced level.
  • A relevant degree (e.g. Mathematics), desirable, not essential.
  • Hold or studying towards a professional qualification (e.g., Certificate in Pensions Calculations, Advance Diploma in Retirement Provision), desirable, not essential).
