General Description (Position Overview)The Warfighters Ambassador Program Specialist is part of the overall Move United team responsible for coordinating daily operations of its Warfighters Ambassador Program. This includes all aspects of the Ambassador experience, including training, and curating events for participants. The Specialist will be the main point of contact between Veterans in our Ambassador program and Move United. The Specialist will ensure Ambassadors are both well trained and resourced to educate both the public and fellow Veterans about adaptive sports and recreation. The Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of Ambassador activation with Move United partners.This position is administrative in nature and the Specialist must be comfortable working on a computer in a fast-paced business environment. Activities and skills important to this position include project management, excellent communication and outreach, and effective abilities to use a range of software and technology platforms.The Specialist will support the Individual Membership Manager, the Member Services team and organization to further the Move United strategic plan.Teamwork and cross-sectional support, work, responsibility, and execution are cultural pillars to working at Move United. The Specialist will regularly interface with and support the efforts of other areas in the organization including communications, marketing, programs, membership, competitions, and events.Move United is a mission driven nonprofit that tackles our projects, events and strategic goals as a team. This includes, at times, working in different capacities in different departments in the furtherance of our mission. At Move United, we all pitch in to achieve our goals and enrich our organization in the process.The Specialist will act as a key representative for Move United at events and some travel, including weekends, is required. This position will travel for work-related trips at least 4 times per year. Travel expenses are covered by Move United.II. Specific ResponsibilitiesOutreach and CommunicationTake charge of designing, creating content for, and delivering monthly communications to Warfighter Ambassadors through various channels, including email and channels.Be readily available to answer questions and maintain regular communication with Ambassadors, ensuring their needs are addressed and concerns are resolved promptly.Design and produce online content, brochures, event supplies, and other communication tools necessary for Warfighter Ambassadors to effectively educate fellow Veterans and Veteran organizations, whether virtually or in-person.Communicate available education resources and training opportunities to Move United Ambassadors, ensuring they have access to the tools they need to excel in their roles.Work closely with various departments within Move United to effectively communicate participation, competition, volunteering, and awareness-building opportunities to Warfighter Ambassadors, fostering a sense of engagement and community involvement.Ambassador ManagementVolunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to support community events, programs, and initiatives, ensuring smooth execution and success.Maintain data management of all Ambassadors within our CRM.Collaborate with the Member Services team to establish measurable target metrics for the Warfighter Ambassador program.Provide comprehensive welcome packs, essential supplies, and pertinent information to newly onboarded Ambassadors, fostering a sense of belonging and support within the program from the outset.Provide onsite management for Ambassadors and/or Veterans at selected events, ensuring their needs are met and representing the organization effectively.Provide essential online content, brochures, event supplies, and other communication tools necessary for Warfighter Ambassadors to educate fellow Veterans, facilitating both virtual and in-person engagements. This includes managing shipping and receiving marketing materials.Education and Resource CoordinationLiase with the Move United Education team to design and develop educational materials that Ambassadors requireWork with the Education department to facilitate virtual and in-person training and education opportunitiesCross DepartmentalWarfighter Ambassador Specialist may be called upon to support other departments, particularly as it relates to Move United's signature events each year: Education Conference, The Hartford Nationals and The Hartford Ski SpectacularIII. Reporting RelationshipThe Specialist reports to the Individual Membership Manager.This position will work in tandem with the Member Services Specialist - Veteran Community Outreach.IV. Required Skills:Work Experience:– Knowledge and experience in project planning and management– Military and Veteran experience– Robust online platform understanding (for example; Microsoft products, LMS programs, Adobe Acrobat, WordPress, Salesforce (or similar CRM), video conferencing systems, or similar) and the ability to use general office technology– Experience with marketing, communications and graphic designPersonal Attributes:– Excellent communication skills, customer service oriented, efficient multi-tasker with good attention to detail.– Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment– A proven track record of initiative and effective decision making is required– Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment– While this position is an in-person role, Move United is a hybrid work environment which means many of your colleagues will be working 100% remote.
