This position involves the identification, and mitigation through focused recommendations, physical and operational hazards (fire, explosion, natural hazard, machinery breakdown, premises liability, products liability, etc.) designed to help our organizations to manage their potential to losses and improve their overall cost of risk.What you’ll do here:Developing, implementing and championing the required Insurance Risk Control client service focus by understanding clients’ needs and cultivating trusting relationships with clients and Intact partnersProactively identifying opportunities to better serve clients by delivering innovative services and solutionsSupporting client retention and business development with Risk Control strategies and initiativesProviding insurance marketing support via Risk Control Reports, outlining recommendations for improvement; prepare loss expectancies (EML, PML) and presentation of the risk to insurers on an as required basisPursuing continuous learning & development, seeking opportunities to build new skills that deliver value to our Intact Clients and PartnersFostering and motivating a collaborative team culture across groups, units and teams with our Risk Control colleagues and Intact PartnersEnergizing others to live the Intact values to their fullestOther related duties and responsibilities as assignedWhat you bring to the table:Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in Property Risk Control for large commercial/industrial/manufacturing and (commercial) liability insuranceSuperior knowledge of relevant Fire Protection Codes and Standards (NFPA) is expectedKnowledge in completing design reviews for water-based fire protection systems, aided with experience in conducting inspections and testingStrong analysis, problem solving and decision-making capabilities with the ability to work independentlyExcellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbally and writtenAttention to details, organization, and prioritization skillsMust have strong computer skills and be proficient with the Microsoft Office PackageGood understanding of Factory Mutual FM Data Sheets and field service methodology is desiredAble to provide a valid drivers license and a clear 5-year drivers abstractEducation:Post-secondary degree or diploma focused on technical and engineering fields (Mechanical, Chemical, Fire Protection, Civil, Electrical, or other) is preferred, or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the roleCurrently holding or working towards a related engineering designation will be an asset (i.e.: P.Eng)Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development with a willingness to obtain the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or Certified Risk Management (CRM) designations is preferredSalary of the successful candidate will typically be positioned between the following range, taking into consideration a number of factors including prior experience, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, location and internal equity: $81,900.00 - $122,900.00What we offerWorking here means you'll be empowered to be and do your best every day.
