We want our teams to reflect the people of Bristol, so we are committed to recruiting people from a range of backgrounds.The Through Care Service supports children and young people aged 0-25 and their families, through their journey in care and as care leavers.As a Practice Lead you will lead on, and manage, the delivery of high quality social work activities within a team working across a range of specialisms and services to achieve the best possible outcomes for our children.The role will have a high level of focus on the development and raising of quality of social work practice and standards.You would be managing an established team of social workers, support worker and administrator and will be part of a team of eleven practice leads.We are based at B Bond in an open plan office overlooking the river and Ashton Court, Clifton and the suspension bridge. We have high aspirations for our children and young people and are committed to providing services to achieve the best possible outcomes.The role demands a high standard of analytical and communication skills, multi-agency working, problem solving and risk management.You will have excellent skills in delivering, monitoring and planning services at an operational level and leading complex and high-risk plans in respect of children’s safety as well as experience of performance management and the supervision of staff.In Through Care we recognise the importance of the child’s whole network in building security and safety. We believe coming into care is an extension of the network our children already have, and a large piece of our work is to support and maintain this.We are creative in our approach to be certain we meet the needs of our children.Our practice is underpinned by signs of safety and we encourage a systemic and reflective approach.Last year we had an Ofsted inspection and received GOOD for both our children in care and our care leaver services.
