Job descriptionOur client is a well renowned Contractor within the Rail industry, they currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their rail team in Scotland.Job Description:The role will comprise of the complete commercial management of a portfolio of rail projects and frameworks, including but not limited to tasks such as cost to completes, CVR, applications for payments, cash management, change control, early warnings, subcontract procurement. Also maintaining and developing relations with the supply chain, the customer and with the internal teams.As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be working within the Scotland business unit, responsible for managing commercial elements of multi-disciplinary projects/frameworks, primarily dedicated to schemes within the local rail maintenance framework and delivery of Capital delivery infrastructure projects, but also providing support to other (non-rail) projects and frameworks throughout Scotland. Your remit and day to day responsibilities will include but not be limited to:As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be directly responsible for the daily commercial management of various rail engineering projects within their portfolio of projects.Day to day responsibilities would include:
  • Leading the commercial management of multiple sites on time and to budget.
  • Pricing and ensuring estimates are submitted accurately and on time,
  • Resolving pricing issues with clients
  • Client Liaison
  • Liaison with Site Managers to collate information on day to day remits,
  • Subcontractor management
  • Change management and early warnings
  • Contract administration (NEC/NR forms of contract)
  • CVR’s
  • Final accounting
RequirementsTo excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor.
  • Civil Engineering project experience
  • Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in a rail contracting organisation.
  • Contractual experience with NEC or bespoke NR forms of contract
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
