My client are seeking an exceptional Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to lead their Building Services team. As a senior leader within the organization, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction, technical expertise, and leadership in mechanical design engineering for large-scale commercial and industrial projects. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to make a significant impact and drive excellence within their dynamic organization.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical design process for complex building services projects, from concept design through to construction and commissioning.
- Provide strategic guidance and technical expertise to project teams, ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders, fostering collaboration and driving innovation.
- Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, innovations, and best practices in mechanical design engineering, and integrate them into project delivery.
- Drive business development initiatives, including identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and participating in client presentations.Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Masters degree or equivalent professional qualification is desirable.
- Extensive experience in mechanical design engineering within the building services sector, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects to a high standard.
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or equivalent professional accreditation is essential.
- Strong technical proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and advanced HVAC design tools.
- In-depth knowledge of building regulations, codes, and standards (e.g., CIBSE, ASHRAE), with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven track record of successfully managing client relationships and delivering projects to exceed client expectations.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to drive business growth and contribute to the overall success of the organization.Benefits:
