The University's Research and Innovation Services (RIS) forms a key component in the delivery of the University's strategy. RIS is a central function, supporting, enabling and promoting all aspects of research, impact, economic development, commercialisation and innovation across our academic community and external stakeholders. Working in partnership we deliver the University and Schools' strategic priorities creating an inclusive and diverse research culture where everyone can thrive, excel and contribute to grow our excellence in research, innovation and impact regionally, nationally and globally. Our goal is informing and driving the delivery of our sub-strategies for “Research with Impact” and “Engagement & Enterprise".The University is now investing significant resource to help create a step-change in our research performance, and an exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious, creative, and research target-driven Research Grants Development Manager to help us deliver our ambitions to support the transformation of our research capacity and capabilities to build our research excellence and grow our research income. They will form part of the RIS Research Grants Development team (RGDT).The Research Grants Development Manager will proactively develop and support the delivery of the University's ambition to increase the quality and volume of its research and secure the funding to do so. They will work closely with the Assistant Director - Research, the Head of Research Grants Development as well as with other teams operating within RIS to ensure maximum support across Schools. They will also be responsible for the line management of one or more of the Research Grants Development Officers.The postholder will be a professional, infuencer and collaborator, able to build effective relationships internally and externally.
