Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Location: Luton
Type: Permanent
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week over 5 days (08:00 am - 16:00 pm). This is flexible.
Salary: £38,360 - £44,700 per annum (depending on experience)Sanctuary Personnel have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our client's dedicated team of healthcare professionals. You will provide an occupational therapy service by assessing, implementing, and evaluating programmes of person-centred care as part of a multi-disciplinary team.About Our Client:They are a specialist neurological care centre based in Hertfordshire, caring for people aged 18 and over with a range of neurological conditions. Their centre provides the care people need to optimise their health and wellbeing, maximise their independence, and support their emotional and social needs.Their assessment centres, rehabilitation units, and hospitals use expert neurorehabilitation to support and help improve the lives of people with neurological conditions or brain injuries.About the role:
  • Responsible for the assessment of service user needs and developing appropriate person-centred treatment programmes.
  • Promote choice in all aspects of clinical practice, reviewing and making suggestions to enhance the service user experience.
  • Liaise and communicate with other health and social care professionals and volunteers in the planning and delivery of occupational therapy.
  • Ensure appropriate provision and maintenance of equipment within available resources.
  • Maintain up-to-date written and electronic records in accordance with professional standards, ensuring sensitive information is held securely.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with other staff through formal and informal teaching.
  • Facilitate the safe and smooth running of the service, maintaining a safe working environment and service user confidentiality, occasionally taking on additional tasks as needed.
About You:
  • Diploma/BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current and valid registration with the Health & Care Professions Council.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Knowledge and application of OT assessments and interventions using clinical reasoning.
  • Ability to work autonomously and to set own and support others’ priorities.
  • Ability to confidently assess and manage risk in relation to occupational performance.
  • Ability to organise, coordinate, and respond efficiently to complex information.
  • Competent IT skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and its impact on current practice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Desirable: experience of working in a relevant setting, including practice placements.
