- Manage departmental overheads to remain within budget.
- Managing and maintaining machinery and equipment.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures and legislation.
- Performing regular inspections and housekeeping on the production line.
- Safely powering down equipment and securing the building in emergencies.
- Following company standard operating procedures and completing all related paperwork accurately and timely.
- Providing on-the-job training to operators.
- Planning, implementing, and controlling the manufacturing line in a costeffective manner.
- Overseeing the manufacturing process, including drawing up, controlling, and adjusting the production schedule.
- Ensuring goods are manufactured according to product specifications standard operating procedures.
- Ensuring setup, changeovers, and correct shutdown procedures are followed.
- Monitoring production targets and recording production activities.
- Ensuring product quality standards are met and recorded.
- Collaborating to identify and address production line issues.
- Minimizing wastage and ensuring efficient use of operating materials.
- Completing required production line activity reports.
- Packaging finished goods according to standard operating procedures.
- Ensuring the production team performs effectively and adheres to company policies and procedures.
- Conducting daily briefings on operations plans.
- National Diploma or Degree qualification in Production Management or similar, advantageous if supplemented by formalised operational training in terms of applied production techniques.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a food manufacturing environment - with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management role.
- Proven knowledge and experience with equipment, process flow, and line commissioning – aligned with requirements to maintain quality, throughput, and effectiveness
