- Lead Cost Management Commissions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery
- Undertake Line Management and or supervisory responsibilities, where you will support, motivate and mentor members of your team. Ensure all staff members reporting to you have current and relevant training
- Lead internal AECOM Project Team Meetings for the purposes of coordinating the AECOM Project Team in addition to the wider AECOM Cost Management Team..
- Lead the management of the delivery of project management team outputs, in accordance with agreed time-scales and quality standards
- Positively engage with the construction and design team and work collaboratively to mitigate risks, avoid claims and disputes whilst maintaining meticulous records to allow you to quickly respond to issues arising and form an informed and balanced opinion having due regard to contract obligations.
- Co-ordinate, review and ensure that there has been a sign off of all management information produced by project management teams prior to issue
- Lead the development of strong relationships with clients and members of the cross-functional team
- Be the main interface with AECOM clients (New and Existing)
- Lead the costing of design on large complex projects
- Lead the production of tender documents, appraisals and negotiations on large complex projects
- Lead the formulation and management of construction contracts on large complex projects
- Progress business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross- selling opportunities.
- To support 'winning' clients, being responsible for the quality of work outputs, effective communication and demonstration of professional behaviours
- Provide leadership within cost management business and provide leadership and mentoring to the team
- Manage project finances, resourcing, audits, and reviews, to a portfolio of projects being led within the cost centre
- Formulate fee proposals
- Support Cost Managers through Professional Chartership
- Active involvement in recruitment and retention activities
- Ensure you complete all relevant training
- Experience working within a consultancy
- Excellent understanding of the roles of different parties involved in construction projects and how these roles change over the life of the project
- Extensive experience preferably gained in the Healthcare or Life Science sector.
- Knowledge and experience of the Healthcare or Life Science sector (including current issues and business drivers) and local construction market.
- Excellent understanding of construction contracts
- Demonstratable experience initiating a project
- Demonstratable experience Leading a project inclusive of defining effective project processes including financial project controls
- Demonstrable experience Leading the design and construction procurement process
- Demonstrable experience using the NEC Suite of Contracts
- Demonstrable experience using the JCT Suite of Contracts
- Demonstrable experience Leading the construction management process
- Demonstrable experience of construction site visits for the purposes of monitoring progress of works
- Demonstrable experience resolving disputes
- Demonstrable experience working within a Healthcare or Life Science environment and/or organisation
- Demonstrable experience effectively motivating and managing people
- Knowledge and experience of the public sector Government Approval Process
- Knowledge and experience procuring consultants and contractors
- Knowledge and experience of working with stakeholders/clients to cost Strategic Development Briefs and Client/User requirements
- Knowledge and experience of working as part of complex, multi-disciplinary/multi-agency Project Teams
- Professional Qualified - ideally Cost Management/ Construction/Engineering/Quantity Surveying Degree
- Chartered Status with the RICS, CIOB, ICE or other equivalent institution
