- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Contracts Business.
- Lead all aspects of contracts management, including successful tender submissions, ongoing contract monitoring and support and future shaping of offers.
- Assess financial opportunities and risks of potential Contract wins and current Abbott contracts under tender.
- Pricing:
- Guide, monitor, analyse, & provide expertise on pricing and product mix opportunities
- Advise on contract pricing and contract offering for large and complex bids
- Improve current contracts profitability: work with the sales, marketing, market access and internal other stakeholders to improve their understanding of financial data, and implications for decisions within trusts.
- Work with the upper management & stakeholders internally and externally to standardize Targeting & Segmentation of contracts.
- This role requires strategic decision making and highly effective cross-functional working to ensure collective and efficient decision making, effectively optimizing all available resources to achieve competitive contracting leadership.
- Provide strong leadership, a vision and strategic direction to all stakeholders involved (account managers, administrative employees, etc).
- Responsible for leading the team involved in the tender or contract regarding the preparation of tender documentation and debriefs
- Ensure that the team is involved in the contract delivers effective and efficient service in supporting contract maintenance and work with the contract managers team increasing contract profitability.
- New Business model analytics:
- Advise on Pricing models to Leadership Team;
- Formulate recommendations based on Return on Investment analytics;
- Own Contract Funding reporting & forecasting.
- Challenge the status quo by formulating and implementing new ways of working and innovative solutions.
- Create and utilize a Tender Calendar to ensure a current picture of the Tender status is readily available and that all tender requirements, information and actions are fulfilled on a timely basis.
- Lead & facilitate task force meetings with a cross functional commercial team as required to discuss any Tender & Contract issues, tender pricing, contract commitment performance, tender status and any other relevant items.
- Representing Abbott at keys stakeholder meetings and industry events.
- Displaying confident negotiation skills in order to shape outcomes positively for Abbott.
- Maintain overview of the total contract landscape in order to identify and spot business opportunities/emerging trends on which Abbott can capitalize.
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant progressive experience in MedTech, Pharma or similar industry.
- Strong commercial experience, experience in leading complex projects & building strong working relationships with a broad range of cross functional stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and experience from statistical forecasting and the ability to use analysis in an operational context to support the team in decision making processes.
- Strong business acumen, driving business critical processes.
- Excellent communication skills, able to inspire and coordinator efficiently.
- Able to plan, organize and manage complex projects.
- Fluency in English, Dutch and/or French.
- Good knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and SAP.
