- SEN teacher provides tailored support to students with special educational needs and mental health concerns. They work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement strategies outlined in education, health, and care plans. This may include assisting with specific interventions, accommodations, and therapies designed to support students' learning and well-being.
- SEN teacher offers emotional support to students with mental health needs, helping them manage emotions, develop coping strategies, and build resilience. They provide a supportive and nurturing environment where students feel valued, understood, and encouraged to express themselves.
- In situations where students experience mental health crises or emotional distress, SEN teacher may provide immediate support and assistance. They follow established protocols for crisis intervention, ensuring the safety and well-being of students while seeking appropriate professional help and support.
- SEN teacher engages in ongoing professional development to enhance their knowledge and skills in supporting students with special educational needs and mental health concerns. They may receive training in areas such as autism awareness, mental health first aid, trauma-informed practice, and behavior management strategies.
- Have previous experience working as a Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) within a SEN educational setting.
