- Lead the development of new housing schemes from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Identify and evaluate potential development opportunities, conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments to inform decision-making.
- Manage the acquisition of land and property, negotiating contracts and agreements with landowners, developers, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and local authorities to secure planning permission and navigate regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, monitoring costs and expenditure throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate the design and construction phases of development projects, overseeing contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and timelines.
- Implement effective project management methodologies and reporting systems to track progress, identify risks, and resolve issues proactively.
- Liaise with residents, community groups, and other stakeholders to engage and consult on development proposals, addressing concerns and promoting positive relationships.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Construction Management, Real Estate Development, Urban Planning) or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven track record of successfully managing residential development projects, ideally within the housing sector.
- Strong knowledge of the development process, including land acquisition, planning, design, and construction.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices related to housing development and planning.
- Experience working in the Yorkshire and Humber region and familiarity with local market dynamics and stakeholders is desirable.
