Internship - Fall- Sustainable Propulsion Performance Analysis and Methods Development

- Support the Advanced Performance team in evaluating engine performance of current and future products.
- Develop expertise in aviation climate science and metrics appropriate for engine design.
- Review and improve existing aviation non-CO2 climate modeling methods within P&WC, particularly for contrails.
- Contribute to developing an engine performance modeling framework for non-CO2 effects.
- Quantify the effects of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and Hydrogen on non-CO2 engine performance.
- Execute engine cycle simulations to evaluate non-CO2 performance metrics.
- Create and deliver presentations at team meetings (in person and teleconference).
- Be eligible to work in Canada
- Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship
- Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable
- Pursuing a degree in computer science, mechanical engineering, applied computing, software engineering, sustainable development, engineering physics, aerospace engineering, or similar.
- Advanced capabilities in Python and MS Excel
- Self driven
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Knowledge and interest in sustainability as it related to aviation
- Strong communication skills
- Effective presentation making and delivery capabilities (e.g. MS PowerPoint)
- Critical thinking and curiosity
