We are recruiting for a HSE Advisor to service our teams in metro and regional WA. In this role you will support technical, behavioural and leadership coaching and mentoring to front line management in areas of health, safety and environment and deliver training to these employees.Additionally, you will support and facilitate incident investigations, provide technical advice or escalate safety concerns raised by workers, review and update relevant policies and procedures in line with legislative changes, as part of continuous improvement that supports our HSE objectives. Attend department Pre-Shift Instruction meetings (PSI) and monthly operational meetings ensuring safety is being discussed, promoting HSE awareness in the wider business and provide visible field leadership to front line management whilst demonstrating compliance to WesTrac's SPARC values.What we offer:

About You:
  • Hold a Cert IV in WHS or equivalent
  • Strong experience in a similar role with leadership traits and a continuous drive to influence positive changes in safety culture.
  • Advanced time management, planning and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication (interpersonal, written and verbal) and public speaking skills
  • Advanced computer literacy skills (MS Office Suite)
  • Experience in IT and other WHSMS software and databases
  • ICAM (or similar methodology) Lead Investigator course and experience in root causal analysis
  • Working knowledge and application of the legal framework to support decision making
  • Previous experience developing and facilitating training to a large and diverse group is advantageous however, not required
About the position:
  • Ensure compliance to the WesTrac Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) management system
  • Provide guidance to the workforce on safe methods of work
  • Assist with investigations of workplace incidents and record on the HSE database
  • Maintain HSE recording systems and registers
  • Promote health and safety policies and procedures to all personnel
  • Analyse and report hazards on site and develop control measures
  • Liaise with site supervision to ensure understanding of the HSE management system and procedures
  • Identify training needs for all personnel
  • Provide information for Toolbox meetings and assist supervisors on the communication of HSE related topics
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify issues and opportunities for improvement
  • Infrequent site visits may be required to support our regional operations
