- Working under minimum supervision on a variety of technically challenging and interesting projects across varied sectors
- Working as part of a larger team on certain projects
- Attending principal meetings and assisting with client presentations on selected projects
- Raise/promote the level of technical excellence relating to public health engineering within the business
- Over time, develop the ability to become a point of contact for key clients
- Help generate repeat business through customer care of existing clients
- Be client facing and involved in all stages of the project from inception to completion
- Working closely with others in a team environment to achieve a common goal
- Producing drawings, specifications and reports
- Producing calculations or guiding others to complete them
- Reviewing project designs to ensure that they comply to all relevant codes, regulations and standards
- Sustainability understanding and implementation (LZC)
- Site management of contractors and installations in terms of compliance with design
- Continued Professional Development (CPD) and continue to learn about new technologies and developments
- Strong understanding of other disciplines
- Minimum of 4-5 years experience of public health design in building services, post qualification completion
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge of different types of above ground drainage systems
- Experience of designing projects for the healthcare, residential, retail and commercial environments.
- Experience in carrying out on-site surveys and installation inspections.
- Experience of Software design using – Microsoft suite of programmes, Revit, AutoCAD etc
- Knowledge of British and European Standards, Building Regulations documents etc
- Knowledge of HTM’s and MOJ Standards would also be beneficial
- A good understanding of hot and cold domestic water services
- Professional institution membership (CIBSE, SOPHE, IET)
- An understanding and specification of incorporating various renewable technologies
- Working knowledge of BREEAM
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- A strong willingness to learn and a desire to develop new and existing skills
