As a Designer at boohoo you'll be responsible for designing and developing ranges in line with current trends, customer profiles and brand direction, continually looking outside the box for new designs. You will lead the development on your product area and shape a commercial and trend driven range with design, buyer and merch counterparts, presenting back for sign off to management.This role is very creative and will require someone who is organised. You must be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the brand/customer profile with a strong commercial eye.YOUR TEAMWhen people think of our department, it’s always about our creativity. Behind the scenes, we’re busy creating mood boards and stories that will become our ranges. We don’t just design; we plan, develop and sample too, working closely with the wider team. We love teamwork and creating a buzz of activity and ideas wherever we go. We know there’s no limit to what we can achieve.WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
  • Deliver balanced and extensive design research e. g. using directional shopping, fabric fairs, catwalk awareness to create unique product lines.
  • Monitor and evaluate the commercial potential of designs within own area and can articulate key shapes and volume lines.
  • Responsible for creation of concept board/packs for design presentations.
  • Create technical packs consistent for suppliers to translate. Wide technical knowledge utilised to support technical team to create best fit garments.
  • Liaising with peers within the Buying and Merchandising teams to fully support the overall delivery of a profitable and commercial range.
  • Travel to our supplier bases for seasonal sourcing of key fabric and new opportunities and ideas.
  • Take ownership of categories, ensuring your product is available for all look books, campaigns and ecommerce shoots.
  • Flexibility to travel locally between our London and Manchester offices and offshore when required.

  • Proven experience within a previous design role (multi-product womenswear preferred).
  • Experience in managing and developing a team to be the best versions of themselves.
  • Excellent with CAD systems, such as Photoshop and Illustrator
  • For fashion, we never follow trends; we set them. Are you a trend leader?
  • Comfortable working at pace. Agility is something you pride yourself on
  • Highly trend driven with a good understanding of commercial appeal
  • Fast thinking and adaptable in highly demanding situations
  • Must be highly self-motivated with strong organisational skills and time management.
  • Ability to meet deadlines is essential
  • Relevant experience in similar role and excellent Competitor Knowledge
  • Awareness of latest design trends + ability to apply relevant styles to our branding
INTERVIEW PROCESSIf we think you could be a good fit for the role, you will be asked to have an informal conversation with one of our Talent Partners.If successful from this meeting, you will then be asked to meet with the Line Manager at our Dale Street HQ.
