To learn more about our purpose, culture, and priorities, visit our .Within our Consult business we harness our unique combination of leading-edge practical expertise and project delivery consultancy to unlock the potential in every project.The project:The senior engagement and communications manager will play a key role in managing positive relations with external stakeholders and communities that the project needs to have an active and ongoing dialogue with.The role holder will also have the responsibility for the MDJV delivery of WI 2400, including input into the HS2 visitors centre and the management of the public enquiries in line with HS2 expectations and external communications.The role will also support the stakeholder and engagement lead, the wider project in managing relationships with key stakeholders and in achieving the undertakings and assurances/project commitments and the HS2 project key performance indicators.You’ll be responsible for:
  • Develops and gets acceptance from HS2 for a Local Area Engagement Plan (LAEP) and ensuring that it is updated on a quarterly basis (3 month lookahead).
  • With the SEE lead develops and gets acceptance from HS2 for the project community investment plan in accordance with WI2400 and ensuring that it is updated on a quarterly basis.
  • Establishes and oversees process for issuing Advance Notification Letters (ANLs) in line with HS2 standards and processes.
  • Establishes and oversees process for small claims scheme in line with HS2 standards and processes.
  • Manages the MDJV input into the management and resourcing of the HS2 visitor centre (including resourcing arrangements) and oversee the co-ordination of any VIP visits.
  • Manages the MDJV public enquiries with HS2 helpdesk, ensuring all enquiries are manged within process and agreed timescales
  • Day to day point of contact for independent construction and residents commissioner.
  • Registers the MDJV site with the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) and manage all reporting and subsequent inspections.
  • Ensures that reporting on all community and engagement activities is provided to HS2 through agreed processes to deadline.
  • Periodically updates the community process in project quality management system.
  • Ensures that the stakeholder record management system is regularly updated and provides a clear summary of current discussions with external stakeholders.
  • Until the communications manager role is filled write copy for communications including e/bulletins, newsletters and organise and participate in community meetings to update on progress and issues.
  • Works with EDI lead in promoting fairness, dignity and respect on the project and the SEE lead to ensure that stakeholders are engaged with and involved in SEE initiatives.
  • Develops and maintains a stakeholder key risks and issues log to be used to report to senior leadership.
  • Line manages staff.
