- Degree in either Civil Engineering or Natural Sciences. A master's will be advantageous.
- Professional Registration with either ECSA or SACNASP, or other appropriate institution or willing to pursue professional registration.
- 5 years’ recognizable working knowledge in the flooding.
- Exposure working in African Countries.
- Deep technical appreciation in hydraulic modelling, in particular fluvial flood risk management will be advantageous and strong hydrology background including impacts of climate change.
- Expertise in the use of HEC-RAS (1D, 1D/2D and 2D) or similar software.
- Knowledge of Nature based solutions / Natural flood management will be advantageous.
- Storm water drainage network modelling and design.
- Knowledge of Flood Modeller Pro, Tuflow and other industry standard software will be advantageous, but not compulsory.
- Effective application of GIS.
- Relevant programming/coding to improve workflows / outputs.
- Autodesk Civil 3D will be advantageous.
- Written communication and report writing skills.
