This role also includes hands-on repair and maintenance work on various building systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, building automation, card access, door and gate systems, building envelope, grounds and parking lots, interior finish systems, and lighting systems. The Mobile Technician must independently plan work assignments, perform duties with minimal supervision, and assist in other trades and general building maintenance.Essential Functions:
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair service work on HVAC, water chillers, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems to ensure optimal operational condition.
  • Identify energy savings opportunities and propose system and operational changes to reduce energy consumption.
  • Conduct routine building maintenance, plumbing, and other necessary tasks.
  • Ability to work as a team player in a quality-driven environment, interacting daily with teams in person, over the phone, and via email.
Working Environment:
  • Truck-based position requiring travel to different locations within a designated area.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
  • Proficiency and hands-on experience in commercial HVAC systems repairs and maintenance, including pumps, motors, air handlers, automation/controls systems, and associated electrical systems.
  • Competency in using computers and software applications (Microsoft Office Suite), internet navigation, and handheld electronic devices (PDA, Blackberry, cell phone, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective management of relationships with team members, contractors, building occupants, and clients.
  • Strong knowledge of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and composition.
  • Self-motivated with exceptional interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
Minimum Required Education:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC service and repairs or equivalent military experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Universal CFC certification required.
Physical Requirements:The physical demands of this job include standing, using hands for various tasks, talking and hearing. The employee may also need to walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and occasionally sit. Lifting and moving objects weighing up to 100 pounds may be necessary. Specific vision abilities, such as close vision and depth perception, are required. This position involves working in outdoor environments, mechanical/equipment rooms, and potential exposure to extreme weather conditions. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, wet/humid conditions, high places, fumes, outside weather conditions, electrical shock, vibration, and potentially hazardous chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat may occur. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
