The Fundraising and Communications Manager is pivotal in driving impactful fundraising campaigns and effectively communicating YAP’s vision to the community. An effective Fundraising and Communications Manager will ensure the delivery of compelling narratives, engage diverse stakeholders, and secure funding across various channels. With strategic planning abilities, they will set and achieve fundraising goals while nurturing relationships with donors, partners, and community leaders to inspire support for the organization’s mission.Primary Responsibilities:Fund Development & Donor Management:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy to achieve annual fundraising goals and sustain the organization's programs and initiatives.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and other potential funding sources.
  • Identify grant opportunities and collaborate with the executive team to prepare and submit proposals. Manage/Report on the funding pipeline.
Strategic Marketing & Communications:
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of an integrated marketing and strategic communications strategy to engage target audiences and increase the organization’s visibility.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of an annual content calendar to support consistent, engaging, and brand-appropriate content across channels (including website, newsletter, reports & case studies, social media, print collateral, press releases, etc.). Monitor the company’s social media and online presence.
  • Evaluate trends, assess new data, and remain up-to-date with current marketing best practices. Monitor, analyze, and report on pertinent metrics to ascertain campaign successes.
  • Oversee all external communications platforms (website, social media, donor management/email marketing, etc.) and monitor the company’s online presence.
  • Supervise marketing staff and manage the department's workflows. Lead/Support marketing-related program development and internal training activities.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience is preferred.
  • Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates effective fund development, cause-based marketing, and strategic communications will be considered.
  • Proficient in all areas of marketing, from copywriting to social media marketing.
  • In-depth knowledge of brand development and multichannel marketing models.
  • Possess a solid understanding of design, copy, and web practices.
  • A proactive, agile, creative, and strategic thinker with strong time and project management abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and independent work skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Results-oriented with exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, a high degree of initiative, and a proven ability to handle competing priorities.
Requirements:
  • The ability to remain stationary for prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and talking on the phone.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds for routine office and event functions.
  • The person in this position may be required to travel. Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver's License, be insurable, and have/ maintain a good driving record throughout the course of employment. In addition, the applicant must have access to a dependable vehicle and maintain state-mandated personal automobile insurance coverage throughout the course of employment.
