House Charge Nurse

- Evaluates overall nursing care, protocols and procedures through clinical practice, rounds, patient observation and documentation.
- Continually monitors and reports on opportunities for process improvement.
- Coordinates unit activities and organizes/assigns work to the nursing staff.
- Takes action based upon clinical judgment and knowledge of current practice standards.
- Collaborates with Chief Nursing Officer, Education Coordinator and departmental Directors to carry out practice standards and staff education to enhance the quality of care.
- Supervises nursing staff performance and assures appropriate staff scheduling.
- Assesses, monitors, and educates nursing staff on patient care.
- Communicates closely with nursing unit Directors and health care team to ensure follow-through between shifts and on weekends.
- Acts as a resource for staff. This role provides on-site nursing leadership for the evening shift and weekends.
- Hours may overlap day and evening hours as directed by nursing leadership.
- Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
- Graduation from an approved program in nursing.
- Must possess a currently valid State of Colorado license to practice as a Registered Nurse. BSN or equivalent preferred.
- A temporary permit issued by the Board of Nursing will be accepted until a permanent license is received if awaiting reciprocity.
- Must have current BLS certification upon hire and maintain current status throughout GRHD employment. ACLS, PALS or ENPC, & TNCC certifications are required within 6 months of initial employment.
- Emergency Room experience required.
- Minimum 5 years overall nursing experience preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience in management in a hospital setting preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- $41.00 - $56.75 Dependent on Experience
- 10% differential in addition to base rate salary
- Additional $2.00 - $4.00 an hour for additional weekend and night shifts
