We are currently recruiting for Auto Electricians who will be responsible for the maintenance and servicing of electrical systems and components on the Shovels and Excavator fleet. The Auto Electrician is required to ensure maintenance activities are completed in a safe, efficient and effective manner. The Auto Electrician is responsible for maximising the amount of scheduled maintenance and minimising the impact of unscheduled works through quality and effective workmanship.In this role, you will:
  • Ensure all maintenance works are completed in a safe manner and in compliance with established safe work procedures and systems. (i.e. Field Level Risk Assessments, Job Hazard Analysis, Permits)
  • Identify resources required to complete maintenance works
  • Diagnose and rectify unscheduled maintenance faults to minimise impact on the operation
  • Repair/refurbish failed components as required
  • Conduct defect elimination inspections and rectify faults identified
  • Assist with the supervision of contract personnel, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently and effectively
  • Liaise with warehouse and tool store personnel to obtain necessary parts and tooling
  • Submit requisition orders for required parts and components, including the completion of documentation to return for credit
  • Complete daily work orders with supporting comments, drawings or photographs as required.
  • Assist Mechanical personnel with mechanical duties as and when require
Who You Are:
  • You will be committed to maximising the amount of scheduled maintenance and minimising the impact of unscheduled works, while striving to continually improve the way we do things.
  • You will have a trade qualification as an Auto Electrician, experience maintaining HME, a current C class manual driver's licence and computer skills.
  • C-Class drivers licence
  • Experience in the maintenance of CAT 6090FS, 6040 & 6060 Excavators, 6060FS (Electric drive) and Hitachi EX3600's
  • Component repair and refurbishment
  • CAT SIS and VIMS experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • At least 10 years' experience in an open pit and workshop environment
