- You will help support the welfare of all boarding pupils under their charge and assist with the day-to-day running of the boarding house. This role requires enthusiasm, energy and excellent communication skills
- To live in accommodation on the school grounds and to be on duty on the evenings agreed and 'on call' at night in case needed
- With the Head of Boarding, to accept responsibility for the welfare, health, safety and pastoral care of the pupils in the house
- To undertake regular 'boarding duties' during the week, in the evenings, and at weekends.
- To oversee wake-up and bedtime routines of the boarders resident in the house on duty days.
- To help create an environment in which boarders will flourish, feel secure and fully engage with the House and School ethos
- To assist with the day-to day running of the boarding house To develop an excellent relationship with the parents and guardians of boarders in order to ensure trust, confidence and clear communication
- To help ensure the boarding house is a lovely place for our boarders to live - a place of mutual respect and tolerance
- To develop excellent relationships with pupils, parents and staff
- To be familiar with and attentive to the National Minimum Boarding Standards
- To have a proactive, can-do, will-do, positive attitude To direct, as needed, other house staff (ie. House Tutors and gap students) in the supervision of boarders and the provision of activities
- Have a genuine interest in the personal development and wellbeing of young people
