This is a hybrid role which can be located at our Galway, Cork or Clonmel site.PurposeYou will lead end-to-end execution of sourcing events for spend, Indirect Goods and Services and provide excellent customer service to the supported Businesses, Sites, and Regions. The Principal Sourcing Specialist reports to the Regional Manager Sourcing.Key ResponsibilitiesLead sourcing events from end to end, including:Price negotiationsVendor quote trackingSupplier selectionContract review and approvalTakes a strategic and long-term view of sourcing in identifying and developing innovative sources and contracts.Direct and drives the stakeholder alignment:Supports the stakeholder identificationEngages and ensures input from the stakeholders throughout the sourcing processSupport and collaborate with Sourcing Managers in the strategic planning and project sourcing execution process:Set up requirements for data analysis, identify the right sources of information and sets up the channels to get the right information to the right personCoordinate the analytics of internal and external data and e-sourcing supportSupport development of Go-To-Market and negotiation strategiesProvide support during the supplier screening and supplier selection process.Performs supplier analysis, including supplier financials and capabilities using available and defined sources of informationLeads supplier Performance development activities and Management reviews.Performs Sourcing and Category Management activities for projects with limited complexity:Executes end-to-end sourcing projects for less complex categories (in alignment with the Global Manager Sourcing)Partner with suppliers and stakeholders to purchase goods and services at an optimal price concurrent with maintaining Boston Scientific Quality standardsDefines and prepares sourcing event documentation inclusive of requirements, specifications, and inputsSupport suppliers and the organization throughout the process by resolving inquiries and disputesAdhere to company policies, Sourcing, Finance, Quality, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and all Corporate policiesEnsure compliance with the Boston Scientific Quality System and Approved Vendor ListAnalyze frequent spend and develop recommendations for improvement in cost and processResponsible for achieving annual cost savings and value contribution targetsNegotiate favorable payment terms with suppliers, Supplier Management: Monitors and communicates quality and delivery performance to the supplier; Obtains bids to promote a competitive environment (locates, interviews, analyzes and evaluates vendor capabilities to select suppliers, partners with these suppliers to maximize company funds.); Responsible for resolving supplier-related problems (works closely with suppliers to assure a positive and professional relationship, always establishing and maintaining open lines of communication.); Maintains awareness of market trends pertaining to their responsibility.Proactively engage with Stakeholders/Business leaders and the Global / Regional Indirect Sourcing Team to understand, create alignment and achieve their business strategies and objectives.Other Ad hoc or recurring assignments as the needs of stakeholders evolve.Experience & QualiicationsBachelor's degree requiredMinimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in finance or purchasingUnderstanding Best practice in Souring and procurement.Self-motivated managing multiple project typesEffective negotiation skillsCustomer service orientationStrong written and verbal communication skillsComfortable with frequent change and ambiguity in a matrix organizationAnalytical decision making; problem solverAbility to deliver against targets and objectivesDynamic & Interpersonal skillWorking knowledge of sourcing practicesKnowledge of SAPMS Excel and PowerPointPreferred QualificationsContracts ManagementAdvanced SAP user/ AribaAdvanced MS ExcelMedical Device Industry knowledge or experience is an advantageAt Boston Scientific, we recognize that nurturing a diverse and inclusive workplace helps us be more innovative and it is important in our work of advancing science for life and improving patient health.
