Job Description 👨‍💻Exotrail is looking for a System Engineer for its space transportation vehicle on LEO orbit. The main role of this person will be to participate in the development of the vehicle used to provide in-orbit transportation services.To do so, both technical and project management skills are required as all members of the team will need to be hands-on.The current team is composed of several engineers working on different missions of the spacedrop™ : LEO, GEO and Rendez-vous. Your role will be to work as system engineer within the systems engineering team , on the evolutions of the platform developped for the LEO mission. It requires a high-level knowledge of the architecture of a satellite, a true spirit of innovation and good skills for team work.Your main tasks will be:📌 Participate in the design of the spacedrop™ LEO platform📌 Perform the system engineering tasks of the project (development, integration, validation, operations)📌 Follow the development of the spacecraft from development to the launch📌 Manage subcontractors who provide technical support or equipmentYou will work directly with the system architect and the Project Manager of the LEO In-Orbit Services team.The position is opened in Exotrail's offices in Toulouse.Preferred Experience 💁‍♀️Exotrail is looking for a satellite engineer with hands-on experience on all the phases of a space project. Typically, the candidate :
  • Must have an experience as system engineer on LEO satellites projects, working on several phases of it.
  • Shall have an experience as a systems engineer, managing technical requirements, writing technical documentation and being at the interface between the technical expert teams
  • shall have a good knowledge of ground-satellite interface and data-handling
  • shall have a good experience in radio frequency,
A minimum experience of 5 years in relevant position is required for this position. Ideally, more experience in different satellite system design, and a good capacity to integrate a team already in place and being quickly autonomous in technical subject would be appreciated.In addition, and as importantly, the candidate must have the following mindset:
  • interest in highly technical work, as well as good project management skills
  • pragmatism, risk-taking and accountable
  • good communication skills with fluent English
  • willingness to join the dynamic, vibrant, demanding environment of a start-up
