- Defends employment/disciplinary practices of Caesars Entertainment (Las Vegas Region) with regard to collective bargaining agreements.
- Assists with defense preparation of legally challenged employment/disciplinary practices.
- Assists with and sometimes facilitates Collective Bargaining/Negotiation with various Unions
- Researches/Synthesize/recommend negotiation strategy to Business leaders based on evolution/modernization of work rules/data and technology improvements
- Maintains a thorough understanding of collective bargaining agreements involving Caesars Entertainment (Las Vegas Region).
- Determines validity of employee claims and discipline issued.
- Provides assistance to the Human Resources in providing management and support to the Human Resources staff.
- Ensures consistent application of personnel policies and procedures throughout the hotel/casino.
- Complete employment verification letters/evidence collection when requested by Attorneys and insurance companies representing employees (not limited to employment matters).
- Participate in supervisor and manager procedure training.
- Attend and participate in various department meetings.
- Prepare requested information for all state agencies (not just the state of Nevada) with regard to unemployment claims filed by former employees (facilitate defense preparation when contesting the claim).
- Represent Caesars Entertainment at employee grievances (or related types of hearings).
- Instruct supervisors on employee relations procedures to be used in accordance with company policies and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
- Meet with employees making any claims of including, but not limited to harassment, unwarranted discipline, violation of collective bargaining agreement, etc. (informs the Regional Vice President of Performance, Culture & Integrity and makes record of such meetings).
- Complete investigations of any claims made by employees.
- Additional related duties as requested by the Regional Vice President of Labor Relations
- Lead organization with methods and actions that are ethical and in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies.
- Identify compliance risks and take actions necessary to eliminate or minimize risks.
- Champion, within the organization, a commitment to honesty, integrity, and responsible corporate behavior.
- Create a compliance culture within the organization and foster an environment where employees feel comfortable reporting potential violations or misconduct.
- At least 4 years general human resources experience and at least 2 year labor relations experience involving collective bargaining agreements.
- Bachelors degree with major emphasis in Liberal Arts or Human Resources (education could be substituted by an additional 2 years experience in Labor Relations).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Fluent in use of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
- Strong organizational and time management skills required.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, team building, and problem solving skills are required.
- Must understand the various areas of the Labor Management Process and have knowledge of the Casino Industry and Union Environments.
- Must be able to add considerable value in meetings and be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
