Competency / Micro Skill Details:

Good understanding about different type of RDMBS systems, NoSQL DB.
Good working experience in either in Oracle or in PostgreSQL DB.
Excellent skills to troubleshoot and fine tune database queries and performance.
Capability to work with multiple teams like Solution architects, Sysops team, Data engineers and application development team.
Good knowledge of metadata management, data modeling, and related tools (Erwin or ER Studio or others) required
Experience in team management, communication, and presentation.
Good interpersonal skills.

Must have skills:

Experience with database management software
Data management skills
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to explain the database configuration changes to Infrastructure team.
Ability to explain complicated concepts in simple terms.
Proficiency in SQL is essential.
Experience with noSQL database is mandatory.
Experience in solutioning data replications, sharding, high availability is essential.
Data modelling knowledge would be an added advantage.
Experience in Cloud DB management.

Good to have skills:

Knowledge of Redis, RDS, KAFKA, AWS DMS etc.

Key Responsibilities:

Identifying installation solutions for new databases
Discuss the data / database requirements with the application and then determine/ design the database solution.
Work with Infrastructure team to build, security patching, implement the best practices on the data base platform.
Work on P1 and P2 production issues with application and platform team.
Work with platform team to improve the database performance, data storage assessment and horizontal /vertical scaling etc.
Identifying areas for improvement in current database systems.
Developing database solutions to store and retrieve PII and PCI information.
Installing and configuring information systems to ensure functionality.
Analyzing structural requirements for new software and applications.
Work with platform team to implement data replication, sharding, muti-region db setup etc.
Analyzing system requirements.
Implementing data migration strategies
Ensuring the efficient and secure data storage
