- Act as the primary point of contact for various customs processes, encompassing CERS, HS determination, COO, CUSMA, CARM, and PARS.
- Oversee all customs and trade compliance activities, encompassing entry adjustments, FTA eligibility, and the audit and approval of duty invoices.
- Efficiently manage drawback processes, including requests for customs rulings and the issuance of trade documents such as Free Trade COOs and OGA as needed.
- Collaborate closely with freight forwarders, carriers, and agents to ensure smooth customs clearance and timely delivery.
- Administer special customs programs, including duty exceptions, tariff shifts, US 301, special tariffs, CTPAT, PIP, and known shippers.
- Maintain electronic records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide support for CTPAT & PIP initiatives.
- Monitor shipment to and from our plant, resolving any shipment exceptions promptly.
- Provide project costing and routing expertise and suggest strategies for timely and cost-effective shipping. Provide project costing and routing expertise.
- Obtain and process forwarding documents as necessary.
- Collaborate with third-party forwarding providers to ensure the accurate and timely movement of goods post-delivery.
- Verify the accuracy of NMFC class and codes.
- Review and approve invoices for accuracy in charges and proper application of NMFC Classification.
- Coordinate 3P drop shipping, pull logistics, and consolidations as needed.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in INCO terms.
- Minimum 4 years of transportation logistics and customs experience.
- Intermediate knowledge and experience in logistics bookings and routings with carriers, freight forwarders, and express couriers preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and ERP applications like Syteline, SAP, and Oracle.
- Working knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Previous experience with Harmonized System (HS) determinations and exposure to classifying products for duty-free eligibility.
- Experience working with online carrier shipping and quoting systems.
- Previous possession of a Canadian GC key for a company.
- Knowledge of duty drawback, duty deferment schemas, and import tax refund processes.
- Capability of a positive result from personnel security CSP check.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills and strong organizational skills.
