- Direct and perform irrigation duties; programming controllers, trouble-shooting irrigation issues, irrigation checks, etc.
- Troubleshoot and repair problems on conventional and 2-wire irrigation systems.
- Complete weekly system checks and direct or perform repairs to ensure irrigation system is operating efficiently.
- Program automatic controller systems to maintain water efficiency of irrigation and sprinkler systems.
- Analyze and evaluate evapotranspiration (ET) rates and weather data for the use of smart (ET) controllers.
- Organizes work orders, equipment, and supplies necessary to complete work assignments.
- Notifies IM of labor, material, and equipment needs to complete work orders.
- Learns to read and review plan designs and specifications.
- Completes daily paperwork and submit to the IM in a neat and timely manner, including timecards, invoices, and workorders.
- Communicates daily with IM about work status and needs.
- Participate in all necessary company meetings, including weekly irrigation meetings.
- Assist and participate in any on the job training, or other training that is organized by ELCI or vendors.
- Collaborates with the IM regarding hiring, employee discussions and employee termination.
- Collaborates with the IM on annual reviews for the Irrigation Technicians.
- Snow removal work as assigned.
- Other duties as appropriate and assigned by the IM.
- Collaborates with the IM to ensure compliance to OSHA and Environmental Landworks Company, Inc. s safety regulations.
- Ensure that all assigned vehicles and equipment are operated in a safe and proper manner and submit necessary repairs to the IM as needed.
- Maintain a high level of good housekeeping and care of company assets: equipment, vehicles, shop, field offices, and customer work sites.
- Follow all State, Local, and Federal Motor carrier laws in compliance with hauling and transporting equipment, and materials.
- Participate in weekly safety talks.
