- Assist in design, development, maintenance, and testing of numerical models, desk top software applications, and web-based services and applications related to water resources engineering.
- Collaborate in Agile and Kanban environments throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering and design to development, maintenance, and documentation, ensuring projects are taken from conception through implementation to deployment with a strong focus on performance and responsive design.
- Utilize DevOps methodologies, including automated CI/CD pipelines using TeamCity or GitHub Actions, and maintain high standards of software quality by utilizing static code analysis tools such as SonarQube to ensure security and establish good practices and habits.
- Utilize comprehensive DevOps technologies including project management, issue tracking, and collaborative tools such as Atlassian JIRA and GitHub.
- Currently enrolled in a BS degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of at least two programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript (React, Node.js), Go, or PL/SQL.
- Basic understanding of Agile and DevOps practices.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, collaborative team environment.
- Familiarity with Object-Oriented design, implementation, testing, and debugging.
- Experience with Git version control systems such as GitHub, BitBucket, and/or GitLab, along with familiarity with accompanying software development workflows.
- Knowledge of higher math, statistics, and numerical methods.
- Basic understanding of Agile, SCRUM, or other rapid application development methods.
- Basic understanding of full-stack development; familiarity with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular, React) and backend development.
- Familiarity with GUI programming, event-driven programming, and GUI testing.
