Job Title: Pattern Technician CAD/CAM
Division: Weir Minerals Europe
Location: Todmorden Onsite/ShiftPurpose of Role:If you are a skilled Pattern Technician CAD\CAM with a passion for design and a strong attention to detail, we would love to hear from you. We have a fantastic opportunity for a time served CAD engineer or Pattern Maker to join our world class Digital Academy and Pattern-shop in Todmorden.As our Pattern Technician CAD\CAM you will join a leading manufacturer in West Yorkshire, providing engineered solutions for our onsite Foundry, dedicated to the mining and mineral sector.Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce new pattern equipment from 2D drawings / 3D models including technical drawings.
  • Competent at using Autodesk products such as Powershape, Powermill and fusion 360. Other CAD package skills can be transferred.
  • Competent to produce products to a specific requirement and high standard.
  • Conduct quality checks on completed designs to ensure accuracy and adhere to specifications.
  • Using Microsoft office
  • Reverse Engineering skills converting STL files from scan data
  • Problem solve foundry/moulding issues.
  • Conventional pattern making experience is advantageous.
  • This role will require some hands on work from time to time.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
  • Must possess a recognized engineering apprenticeship or qualification with a technical certificate.
  • Ability to read technical engineering drawings.
  • Positive attitude to modern manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in a CAD environment would be preferred.
  • Patternmaking experience would be advantageous.
  • CNC experience would be advantageous.
  • Strong Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Motivation towards improving health and safety culture.
