Emtec Energy are actively seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join our team. Being part of our diverse team will not only allow you to refine your skills but also ensure your professional advancement in this dynamic and constantly evolving sector.The RoleThis is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join our team based at our HQ in Uddingston where you can grow along with the business. In this role you will be supporting the pre-construction, design and bid teams working on a variety of opportunities from multi -site to standalone multi-million-pound renewal projects which are of an electrical and construction nature.Key Responsibilities
  • Support bid process in assessing tenders, managing RFI's, bidding, phasing & programming.
  • Working closely with the Estimating and in-house Design team,
  • helping to plan and design large-scale solar PV projects, providing operational and technical guidance with bid preparation for tenders.
  • Manage and coordinate technical site surveys.
  • Embrace a culture of ‘Continuous Improvement’, together with the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality systems.
  • Provide input to enhance tender opportunities and develop effective communication with Pre-Construction process.
  • Assist with initial procurement planning and strategy, optimising the approach towards
  • risk management.
  • ensure site specifics have been identified and included within bids.
  • Review drawings specifications and other documents making the project team aware of construction-related problems and potential risks.
  • Participate in the preparation of the construction schedule and resourcing requirements, plant, and logistics.
What you will need to succeed
  • Proven experience in pre-construction management or a good understanding of civil / electrical engineering and utilities.
  • Ideally possess a HNC or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced project environments with multiple projects running concurrently.
  • Excellent organizational skills with first class attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Comfortable with the Microsoft Office package particularly Word and Excel.
  • Understanding of scope of work, specifications, programmes, and cost control of tender documents.
  • Familiarity with specifications and drawings.
  • Knowledge of the contract, contract conditions, and obligations
  • Awareness of current Building Regulations, Codes of Practice and Legislative Requirements
