Named a , Calm supports more than 150 million people and 3,500 organizations across seven languages and 190 countries.Calm is looking for a freelance Polish Language Consultant to assist our team in delivering a high-quality Calm product and supporting materials in the Polish language.Calm is the leading mental health brand, on a mission to support everyone on every step of their mental health journey. With the #1 app for sleep, meditation and relaxation, Calm's transformational mindfulness content supports users across seven languages in more than 190 countries.What you will do:
  • Review translated Polish scripts and promotional content to ensure linguistic quality and accuracy concerning vocabulary for meditation, mindfulness, and mental health
  • Review translated Polish app and web products to ensure linguistic quality and accuracy and a smooth user experience
  • Work with vendors to align their work product with Calm's brand and style
  • Discuss difficult translations with vendors and the Calm team
  • Create and maintain the Polish glossary, ensuring vendor adherence
  • Create and maintain the Polish style guide, ensuring vendor adherence
  • Attend audio recording sessions to guide narration talent and ensure alignment between scripts and voiceovers
  • Evaluate and approve final recorded target audio content
Who you are:
  • A native-level Polish speaker with a profound understanding of English
  • Have experience as a linguist, ideally as both a translator and proofreader
  • Have experience working with Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools
  • Have Polish writing experience, ideally with both fiction and nonfiction
  • Have experience localizing app user interfaces, and are familiar with best practices
  • Have personal experience with meditation, mindfulness, and/or mental health in Poland and in the Polish language
  • Are excited about how Calm can make a positive impact in the lives of Polish speakers
  • This role will be paid on a project basis
  • This is freelance/contract work only. Calm's budget is approximately $27 - $55 per hour. Please note, the hourly rate will be contingent on the Consultant's location, services & deliverables and hours required, which will be mutually agreed upon by both parties.
