A Specialist Provision in Leyland (PR25) require up to three additional Learning Support Assistants. The school require staff on a long-term contract which are on a full-time basis (Monday-Friday, 8.30-4.15pm). The positions have flexible start dates, most of the roles are to start as soon as Monday 9th January 2023, with a view to go into school for a trial morning the week before. There is flexibility around these dates as the provision are interested in securing the right support therefore would rather wait for the right people.The provision caters for pupils aged 10-19 with SEMH and/or ASC, who can often display challenging behaviour. The school have a range of experienced Senior Managers, Teachers and Learning Support Staff who have proven experience in ADHD, ADD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, Asperger’s and Autistic Spectrum disorders, Mental Health disorders/diagnosis, sexual exploitation, abuse, attachment disorder and misuse of substances. They are looking for individuals who are passionate to making a difference with children in Specialist settings.Within these roles, as a learning support assistant, you will be expected to create positive relationships with the pupils and encourage positive choices and behaviour. You will be expected to provide general support within the classes and work collaboratively with other LSAs and the class teachers.The school are keen to consider a variety of staff in terms of experience, you are likely to be successful whether you are an experienced SEN support assistant, a graduate looking for experience in specialist provision or have current or prior experience support/care worker etc. Ideally if you have supported individuals with additional needs, that would be desirable however this is not essential to be successful.
