About the jobPurpose of Your Role:The Retirement Plan Counselor will act as the single point of contact for a group of existing Retirement Plan Services clients. Must be familiar with all aspects of plan administration including required testing, Form 5500 preparation, and assisting in plan design to achieve financial objectives, and regulations related to the retirement plan.The Retirement Plan Counselor will develop and demonstrate a basic understanding of retirement plans and Benetrends’ products and services with the goal of helping our clients manage their retirement plans appropriately.What you’ll bring to Benetrends:· A true passion for helping our clients with their retirement plan needs.· A TEAM first mentality, if our Team wins our customer(s) will always win.· Willingness to embrace change.What you’ll be responsible for:· Perform all facets of daily plan administration, including processing of contributions, loans, distributions, hardship withdrawals and QDROs.· Performs nondiscrimination and other testing and providing strategic alternatives for correction of failures and presents options to improve future nondiscrimination test results.· Prepares signature ready Forms 5500 and other government fillings for review.· Researches and resolves operational and regulatory compliance issues arising from both client questions and from internal activities. Prepares for and participates in client related meetings.· Effectively communicates the necessary regulatory information and testing requirements to clients in a way that can be easily understood by individuals who are not in the business.· Research complex issues and uses independent judgement in solving problems and making suggestions to client to ensure compliance.· Reviews, interprets and maintains the legal plan documents in order to assist clients in ensuring plan compliance with current IRS/DOL regulations.· Works with internal associates, clients, and vendors to ensure accurate and timely response to all outstanding client/plan issues.· Works with and educates (if needed) the plan sponsor to ensure they fully understand their role and responsibility.About you:We are looking for an eager retirement professional who can communicate complex retirement plan administration to our customers. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to prioritize, and willingness to work well within a team environment. Must live within one of the following states: California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas or Utah.What you need:· ASPPA Credential(s) (or willingness to obtain)· Excellent Customer Service skills including the ability to manage client expectations· Advanced working knowledge and understanding of retirement plan administration· Proficient in Microsoft Suite of Products.· Previous ftwilliam.com experience not required but preferred.What you’ll be a part of:The Benetrends Family who is deeply involved in the community and the team brings extensive retirement plan knowledge to the industry to help our entrepreneurial customers plan for their future.
