Senior Visual Experience Designer Temp to Staff

- Must reside in the NY/Tri-state or Washington DC area
- Develop an understanding of Local Project’s ambition, process, and collaborative culture
- Convert project strategies into cohesive and dynamic visual design systems
- Develop and implement unique design systems and solutions while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to cohesively visualize (Physical, Creative Technology, Content, UX, etc.)
- Ensure the integrity and quality of an established visual direction and system are consistently applied throughout all phases of a given project across print, motion, linear media, interactive media, and physical environments.
- Push ideas and elevate concepts from a holistic visual experience point of view
- Establish conceptual frameworks and working methodologies to solve complex design challenges
- Effectively communicate cohesive design concepts internally to teammates and externally to clients through clear written, verbal, and visual means
- Flag stumbling blocks and offer solutions in a timely and proactive manner to project leads
- Assist VXD Art Directors and Director of VXD in supporting and mentoring junior team members
- Coordinate with project team members to clarify design dependencies (hardware and software specs, content specs, architectural specs, etc.)
- Proactively convey accurate time estimates and expectations for yourself on projects; notify project leads as established allocations change.
- Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and expectations established by project leads
- Pursue professional development opportunities for approval and support while always looking to expand and develop skill sets; pushing our work in innovative and exciting new ways.
- A design degree (graphic, interaction, communication, media design, or a related field)
- Design portfolio that includes work across several disciplines (e.g. print / environments / wayfinding / branding / media / UI / UX)
- Examples of work:
- that show fluency in establishing design systems and solutions that actively engage audiences for a broad range of clients with rationales conveyed through visual and written means.
- in a range of physical environments; that convey spatial empathy and consistent attention to accessibility
- that sees designs through production phases (print) e.g. elevations, typicals, guidelines, and templates.
- Highly generative and iterative design methodology.
- Excellent typographic and overall design skills
- Excellent photoshop skills to generate comps and render views of environments in collaboration with Physical Design (3D) teammates.
- Ability to take an established graphic system and design cohesive UI applications while collaborating with UX Design teammates to take it to the finish line.
- Ability to conceptualize and visualize ideas for motion and media; experience and skills in animation, motion graphics, and linear media a plus
- A passion for and strong awareness of innovative ideas and work within technology, art, and design

- Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign with at least a familiarity in After Effects to convey how a design system can be applied across motion / interactive design.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of Figma 3D skills (e.g. Rhino / Cinema 4D) are a plus
- Skilled to fluent in Keynote and Google Slides
