In this role you will manage the finance centre of excellence. You will be the project lead for the alignment with NSO ensuring adoption of business design, and supporting projects in business design activities in line with process designs. Examples of projects could include the implementation of significant change requests, new business initiatives (e.g. subscription models, new e-commerce platform), new platforms (e.g. Oracle Cloud). You will also execute analyses of new demand requests from NSO ensuring that these are well understood and quantified in terms of worth case in line with Business Process Organisation strategic direction. Finally, you are expected to have a deep understanding of the business design (e.g. process) and functional design of supporting systems.What we giveWith Canon, you'll get the support and encouragement you need to grow, from people who share your ambition.   • Act as Finance lead for the various finance projects
  • As a member of a team, ensure business requirements are fully captured, justified, clearly defined and documented
  • Ensure accounting is robust, results in the desired outcome and is aligned to the reporting requirements
  • Develop the activity planning, organise and co-ordinate the required activities
  • Support process design, prepare process documentation and training materials, develop testing scenarios and scripts, lead execution of the testing
  • Explain and train solution to NSOs; guide and coach end users
  • Act as single point of contact. Resolve issues; escalate/inform as appropriate
Responsibilities as Finance Centre of Excellence manager
  • Manage Finance Centre of Excellence (3-4 direct reports based in the Amstelveen office)
  • Harness both central and NSO expertise to ensure wide spread of specialist expertise
  • Drive change - identify process and/or system improvements; develop proposals and business cases; drive approval and adoption
  • Ensure accounting is USGAAP compliant
  • Ensure processes and NSO/RSHQ finance structure meets stringent internal control standards
  • Train and guide end users
  • Resolve issues; escalate/inform as appropriate
What we askFor this role, you will have:
  • Background that includes both Finance Management and IT project implementations. It is expected that the successful candidate will have proven experience in a managerial level Finance role, together with demonstrable examples of leading business improvement projects
  • Demonstrate practical and relevant accounting knowledge, ideally USGAAP
  • Demonstrable Oracle R12 technical knowledge
  • Minimum of five years’ management experience; ability to lead, coach and challenge others
  • Assertive, delivery and solution focused, analytical. Eye for detail but able to see the bigger picture
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Good stakeholder management
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Able to travel within the European geographical area
  • Provide concise and clear summaries and explanations to senior management
