JAGCON Group Pty Ltd are seeking a highly motivated and experienced CIVIL ENGINEER (Site Engineer) to assist in civil engineering tendering, construction and operations.The successful applicants must have at least two years of relevant experience. Must have a strong understanding of all aspects of Engineering, Design and Engineering management preferably with experience in more than one engineering field.Responsibilities:
WORK HEALTH & SAFETY
  • Implement and promote a positive safety culture
  • Lead the implementation, monitoring, and documentation of SWMS's and Procedures in multiple work areas
  • Ensure direct employees and subcontractors are appropriately skilled to perform their tasks including training in SWMS's and Procedures
  • Actively participate in informal daily hazard inspections of the work area and remove, rectify, or report any hazards as required
  • Conduct formal safety inspections of work areas using standard checklists or SWMS's
  • Attend and present daily prestart and weekly toolbox meetings for direct work team to ensure safety is discussed, promoted and issues are resolved
  • Report and analyse all health or safety breaches and ensure compliance with relevant procedures
COMMERCIAL
  • Report financial requirements to ensure site objectives are met
  • Assist in production of a fully detailed forecast Cost to Complete and reports
  • Ensure profitability is maximised against individual cost codes so as to generate contingencies
  • Ensure concise and timely contribution to weekly and monthly reports for Project works
  • Generate accurate Site Diaries on a daily basis; and train SE and GE in requirements
  • Identify and assist in the Head Contract variations, including the identification of possible variations or changes to scope
  • Oversee the implementation of Project commercial procedures, including the proper use of the purchase order system
  • Ensure material, plant and subcontractor registers are accurately maintained to produce monthly accruals and assist in control of the budget and forecasting
  • Develop scopes of work for the tender of subcontract packages and be aware of the scope of work for all subcontract package responsibility
  • Ensure accuracy of daily costing records including supplier/subcontractor dockets/reports to ensure cost control
  • Develop an accurate monthly measure of works done for use in Progress Claims and assessment of subcontractor claims
  • Review potential cost savings and efficiency gains in recommending solutions and ensuring implementation where appropriate
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities
PEOPLE LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT
  • Develop “One Team” culture so that the site teams cooperate well with each other and integrate effectively with the wider project teams
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and external parties, which are managed within the guidelines of the project code of ethics

PLANNING & PROGRAMMING
  • Ensure the development, in collaboration with the Supervisors, of a detailed programme for day to day activities, lookahead programme and daily program changes, including resources required and material deliveries
  • Develop better ways to deliver the Project works, including improved construction methodologies, alternative designs and alternative materials selection
  • Monitor progress of the planned works and regularly review the delay allowance status
  • Coordinate resources to ensure the Project works progress in conjunction with other Section works
  • Ensure the tracking of off-site procurement items against programme
  • Actively participate in the application of resources to generate a target program based on the method, with a target completion that precedes the contracted completion by a suitable delay allowance
  • Communicate the program to all relevant internal parties

QUALITY & SYSTEMS
  • Manage all lots in accordance with the Project QA system, including opening, closing, testing and creating of material registers, lots are complete, up to date and closed out expeditiously;
  • Development of Work Area Plans (WAPs), including Work Packs (WPs), Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), and allocation of lots
  • Assist construction team by having a thorough understanding of the technical specifications and providing technical support as required
  • Oversee the generation of quality checklists for all work packages
  • Ensure that all relevant test results, inspections and records required under the Contract and Specifications are captured
  • Manage the disposition of NCRs
  • Close out all defects within the timeframe of Practical Completion nominated in the Project Quality Plan
  • Review design documents to achieve clarification and compliance with standards, specifications and codes as well as adequacy of design documents for the purpose of construction
  • Communicate design details and quality requirements to supervisors and subcontractors.
SUPPLIERS & SUBCONTRACTORS
  • Oversee subcontractors, consultants and suppliers work in accordance with contract requirements ensuring high performance in terms of time, cost and quality
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure constructive relationships and assist in the co-ordination of the subcontract supervision
  • Monitor and manage the delivery of suppliers' and subcontractors' procurement items and services to the Project
  • Hold weekly meeting with critical suppliers and subcontractors to ensure programme and procurement risks are identified and resolved early
  • Administer subcontracts including progress payments and variations
COMMUNITY & ENVIRONMENT
  • Support community and environment requirements by ensuring employees are aware of project requirements
  • Proactively manage any community and environmental issues and effective liaison with affected external stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a technical engineering role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills gained through experience working within large multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within large teams to provide assistance in resolving issues
Preferable:
  • Experience in project management and/or team leading preferable
  • Software - AutoCAD, 12D, Civil 3D
Qualification requirement:
