- Financial reporting: Prepare and analyze complex financial reports, including financial statements, management reports, and performance metrics, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, internal controls, and regulatory requirements, conducting audits and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Process improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in accounting processes, streamlining workflows and enhancing efficiency.
- Financial systems: Maintain and optimize financial systems and software, troubleshooting issues, and providing user support and training to ensure effective utilization.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, procurement, and operations, to address accounting-related issues, resolve discrepancies, and support organizational goals.
- Audit support: Lead internal and external audits, coordinating audit activities, providing documentation, and overseeing audit procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Training and development: Stay updated on accounting standards, best practices, and industry trends through training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, promoting professional growth and development within the finance team.
- Special projects: Lead or participate in special projects or initiatives as assigned by the Finance Manager or senior leadership, contributing to the achievement of departmental objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or 8 years of equivalent related experience. Associate degree with 4 years of related experience.
- A degree in accounting is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and GAAP.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software, MS Excel, and other financial tools.
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Leadership skills, with the ability to lead projects and teams effectively.
- Commitment to accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality in handling financial information.
