My client is a growing boutique practice, lead by a highly experienced and well networked Director. The Director had previously been a Partner at a large mid-tier firm, before stepping out on his own. The firm has grown from strength to strength and they are now excited to appoint an experienced intermediate accountant to join their team. The firm's loyal clientele has been with the Director throughout his career and are quite varied with client t/o generally in the range of $10-$20m, up to $55m. They work with SMEs, HNW groups and private companies in providing comprehensive accounting and advisory services. This role is an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to advisory and project work (about 30% of work will give you exposure to this), with the remaining 70% a mix of general compliance and some more complex compliance work.In 2023 they transitioned all their systems to be cloud-based, and they primary use XPM and Xero. The team includes the Director, Manager, 2 Accountants and 2 Admin/support staff. The team are passionate about servicing their clients and there is a positive energy in the office. They all work closely together on clients and take a collaborative approach. The firm is based right in the heart of Parramatta (just minutes from the train station, Westfield/early bird parking options, bus routes), right across from Parramatta square. They also offer 1-day WFH per week.Key duties will include:
  • Preparing tax returns and financial statements for individuals, companies, partnerships, trusts and SMSF's
  • Assisting the Partner and Manager with tax research to provide high level advice to clients
  • Communicating with clients, responding to their queries, managing their expectations, and further developing positive relationships for the firm
  • Working on complex tax issues (Division 7A loans, FBT, CGT)
  • Dealing with regulatory bodies such as the ATO & ASIC on behalf of clients
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • CA or CPA - desire to commence, currently studying or qualified
  • 3+ years' experience in a public practice environment - working with a diverse range of clients and group structures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A mindset for continual improvement and a desire to grow your career
