Learning Support AssistantCover People are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to work across all key stage 1 providing Support to vulnerable pupils with SEMH needs.The RoleA large, warm and welcoming Primary School based in Offerton are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their team and provide support across KS1 to vulnerable pupils with social emotional and mental health. The role would be to work full time Monday – Friday, the working hours are 8:30am – 3:30pm.The school require the Teaching Assistant to be skilled and experienced with working with children in Key Stage One. The Teaching Assistant would also need to have successfully supported very vulnerable children with SEMH needs by providing nurture and clear structure and routine. The successful Teaching Assistant would also need them to be skilled at working in a team, following direction, as well as be reliable and punctual with good attendance. This is vital due to the nature of the role as the TA will be supporting vulnerable children who need structure and stability to help ensure their success within a school setting.The candidate must have:
  • Prior experience working with children within KS1 / School setting
  • Experience and knowledge of supporting children with SEMH
  • Knowledge of the KS1 curriculum
  • A passion for working with young children with SEMH.
  • Understanding of working with Vulnerable children.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • DBS on update register
  • References for last 2 years work history
