We are passionate about rewarding excellence and helping people to grow, both personally and professionally, during their time with us.If you are looking for opportunities within a progressive, innovative, and nurturing organisation; and have the energy, passion, and commitment to deliver excellence, we would love to hear from you.We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a UK Manufacturing Project Engineer, within our Engineering Team.In a nutshell, you will be responsible for:Working closely with the Global New Product Development (NPD) and wider Engineering function, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth transition of strategic projects into manufacturing via the development and delivery of detailed inter-dependency and timing plans, incorporating all major project milestones and critical paths such as manufacture, build prototype, validation and testing of brassware product launches.What you are already great at:
  • Working with the R&D function to ensure all new product introduction, business product expansion or critical activities are structured and project-managed to enable smooth transition into production.
  • Mapping of product development phased gateways, risk management and dependencies assuring on-time delivery of critical project milestones, reporting and updating on project process to the wider business.
  • Collaborating with the global NPD and UK Manufacturing Quality functions to ensure that customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements of the products, services and verification documentation are determined, understood, and consistently meet the expectations of internal and external stakeholders in a robust and timely manner.
  • Providing technical advice to internal and external stakeholders along with fault-finding, resolution and problem solving of issues arising during design, build and use.
  • Delivering all pre-manufacturing engineering processes in full, defining the rules for design, manufacture and assembly to support all aspects of new product launch.
  • Overseeing prototype builds, including the manufacture or assembly of components, systems and/or sub-systems.
  • Producing, updating and maintaining technical data, including reports, engineering change notifications, test procedures, and all drawings and specifications.
Supporting the cross-functional creation, update, review and approval of process creation and development documentation, such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Control Plans.For this role we would need you to demonstrate:Essential
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of Product Development within Manufacturing and / or Process Engineering, Prototype Machine build and test environment.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Knowledge of product launch processes and experience in the implementation of the Core Quality Tools: Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
  • Working experience within a technical product production environment.
  • Experience with CAD (Solidworks / Creo) and the ability to interpret technical drawings and tolerancing, including experience in GD&T.
  • Good analytical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, as well as the drive to learn and develop own skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong aptitude for hands-on engineering.
Desirable
  • Educated to degree level within a relevant discipline.
  • PRINCE2, APM, or PMP trained.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or above.
  • Experience within procurement, maintenance, and knowledge of relevant standards including BSi, ASME and other National Standards.
  • Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Systems Planning and Implementation.
  • An understanding of UK HSE regulations (IOSH Trained).
