Ensure that the plant consistently meets regulatory and safety compliance measures and operates in a productive and profitable manner.The support of various environmental projects ranging from, but not limited to:
  • Confined Space Entry – CSE & Confined space rescue.
  • Tank/ Vessel Demolition.
  • Environmental remediation
  • Waterway response
  • Hazardous materials clean up
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage the team responsible for the hazardous and retail waste including all reactive, cylinders and specialty waste. Act as a technical resource for the team overseeing consolidation operations. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, both internally and externally.
  • Work with management team to implement, update and develop standard work practices.
  • Ensure appropriate paperwork is completed, and data is entered correctly in system including manifest and land disposal restriction forms.
  • Assist in ensuring that the plant meets regulatory and safety compliance measures and operates in a safe, productive and profitable manner. Ensures compliance with all program objectives.
  • Work closely with operations department to coordinate scheduling and transportation needs.
  • Perform periodic audits and review of inbound containers and provide feedback to appropriate management group.
  • Select and train an efficient and effective staff including coaching/mentoring, goal setting, motivating, providing resources needed to do their jobs, conducting
  • performance reviews, providing performance feedback; make recommendations for annual merit increases.
  • Administer, communicate and ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures among direct reports.
  • Address and resolve daily and immediate housekeeping issues; i.e., spills are cleaned, floor is dry and no debris is found on the floors.
  • Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management
QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Able to travel out of town for projects as needed, estimated travel amount is 40%
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience operating heavy equipment
  • Possess a Commercial driver's license
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Knowledge of RCRA, DOT and DEA Regulations as they relate to waste characterization and the transportation of hazardous waste
  • 40-hour Hazwoper and 8-hour refresher certifications
  • Ability to manage/prioritize several tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point
Physical Demands:
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods of time
  • Willing and able to wear company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hat, eye protection, foot protection, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator (as needed)
  • Able to pass a company physical, drug test, and background check
  • Willingness and ability to work safely in a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving vehicles, electrical current, and exposure to chemicals.
  • Physically agile and dexterous and undeterred by adverse climatic conditions
  • Ability to push hand truck with loads of up to 500 pounds.
