Hourly Rate: £32 (Inside IR35)Our client is a global leader in aerospace innovation, specialising in the design, manufacturing, and delivery of cutting-edge commercial and military aircraft. Renowned for its commitment to excellence and advancing the future of air travel through technological advancements and collaborative partnerships. They are seeking a skilled Mechanical & Electrical Technician to join their team in Stevenage. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance of industrial tools and machinery, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, legal requirements, and company standards. Your primary duties will include conducting inspections, coordinating repairs with external service providers, and ensuring the efficient operation of plant equipment.Responsibilities:
  • Manage booking and scheduling of maintenance tasks
  • Escort non-permanent service providers on-site
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform first-line diagnostics and interface with service providers via phone or email
  • Liaise with operations managers and facility management to resolve issues
  • Support G.S.E preparation and conduct pre-use checks
  • Carry out basic maintenance tasks such as belt replacement, bearing replacement, and lubrication
  • Conduct monthly EHS audit follow-ups
  • Generate reports for equipment defects and support re certification action plans
  • Continuously seek opportunities for personal development and skill enhancement
  • Organise and prioritise workload efficiently
  • Utilise company systems and software effectively
  • Propose process improvements to enhance business efficiency
  • Collaborate with team members as needed
Essential:
  • Strong understanding of Mechanical and Electrical systems
  • Relevant qualification and experience in maintenance engineering
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
  • Ability to organise maintenance tasks efficiently
  • Reasonable level of fitness for physical demands of the role
  • Baseline security DBS clearance
  • Experience in customer and supplier interactions
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation
